Nerves

October 31, 2010 § 2 Comments

I’ve been relatively quiet on the blog front; I’ve been busy designing a scarf for a contest! It was such a wonderful experience both coming up with a design under pressure and then also knitting it up, plus then finding two stellar testers to check my pattern and its layout. So many wonderful entries were designed, but maybe mine will stand a chance because it’s designed for beginners (though of course anyone more advanced would probably enjoy it as TV or on-the-go knitting too). I can’t wait to release the pattern here in two days.

I also went to a local, smaller fiber expo two weekends ago and stashed up on some lovely sock yarns and handspuns. While I can’t wait to work with all my yarns, I already have plans for these yarns.

Maybe a shawl:

Wrap/scarf:

Cowl:

And here’s my first handspun! It’s not a lot of yarn, so maybe it’ll be an ipod or camera cozy. Or maybe like, a teeny sock ornament thingy to hang on the tree.
