Cats fancy

Lately I’ve been feeling kind of bummed out by my crafting. First my crochet shawl, modeled here on Hermione, failed miserably due to my ignoring warning bells in my head that the yarn was just a bit too variegated for crocheted lace. So, into the frog pond it went, farewell almost 800 yards crocheted. It’s actually quite annoying that the yarn looks so good photographed but in real life looks like a beige mess. I think crochet and variegation in yarn is really tricky to master, even more so than with knitting.

Since I can’t bear to try re-crocheting that much, I think I’m finally going to bite the bullet and just use the yarn on my loom. My Cricket could use some attention, and I think the yarn, Fiberstory OOAK, will look much better woven.

Additionally, my two sweater projects aren’t faring too well, so I decided to just do some charity knitting. So far I’ve whipped up two baby hats (from deep stash! Hallelujah!) while procrastinating on the math to fix the Rowan jumper and studiously ignoring the finishing on a cowl lurking near me.

I suppose if the cats can tolerate modeling my yarny creations, I can spend ten minutes grafting a cowl together…which I can again stick on a cat! Mwahahahaha!

Where Am I?
